Isa Aepli

Isa Aepli Mother, coach and attentive observer of family life

Isa supports parents through challenging situations and reminds them of what they already carry within: orientation, trust and inner calm.

Her outlook was shaped by a childhood in the mountains and an eventful life: different countries, languages, cultures and school systems have sharpened her sense for what strengthens people instead of unsettling them further.

Her work is about less “must” and more being, about leaning back without looking away, about clarity without harshness.

Her first book was published in 2020: Denkst du noch oder lebst du wieder? (in German)

The method

3 colours instead of 1000 worries

Parenting can be easier. The colours red, orange and green stand for inner states you can use as a compass. For yourself and for your child.

Red

The storm zone
Stands for
Stress, alarm, overwhelm.
What applies now
Stop. Providing structure and safety is enough; otherwise it’s time for a pause. Just like at a red light.

Orange

The wobble zone
Stands for
Irritability, uncertainty, lots of questions.
What it means
Wait. Don’t settle anything fundamental, don’t lecture. Be okay with “not knowing yet”.

Green

The green wave
Stands for
Clarity, connection, calm.
Now is the time for
Solutions, conversations or agreeing on rules (screen time, helping out at home, etc.).

The green wave always comes.
On red and orange, you’re allowed to lie back in the deckchair.

Too simple to be true? The book shows how to apply it to many typical trouble spots: screen time and screen addiction, dealing with diagnoses, lying, crises, arguments. A gift for parents looking for a simple system that brings calm and helps them act at the same time.

About the book

The book (in German)

What if parenting took less effort instead of more?

Erziehung aus dem Liegestuhl is a gift for parents who are tired of brooding, doubting and always trying to do better.

Instead of more advice or complicated explanations, the book offers three colours as points of orientation for the inner states of children and adults. They bring clarity, ease relationships and restore lightness.

The author’s message is simple, and perhaps that is why it is so powerful: You are okay. Right now. Despite everything.

Don’t read it to become better. Read it to simply breathe again.

What readers say (translated from German)

Stefanie Busse, Swiss Education Consulting

“‘On orange and red, you’re allowed into the deckchair.’ Hooray, finally! Thank you, dear Isa, your deckchair approach is wonderfully relieving and super helpful. Highly recommended for all parents.”

Helen Minder, Special needs teacher
